Erlang/OTP Erlang/OTP, developed by Ericsson, is a run-time and development environment primarily for building and running software systems with extreme non-stop requirements. Erlang is a fully fledged programming language promoting concurrency oriented programming style. OTP is a framework on top of Erlang, developed in Erlang, which provides rules and skeleton-code supporting best practice. OTP also comes with many ready to use components. Today Erlang/OTP exists for a number of operating systems. Most commonly used are Sun Solaris, Windows (95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP), Linux, Free BSD and WindRiver VxWorks. Erlang dates back to the early 90's. Modern Erlang with OTP is from the middle of the 90's. Erlang/OTP is available on commercial terms and since 1998 also as open-source. Technical support can be purchased from several commercial providers such as Sjöland & Thyselius Telecom AB. LINKS
